Makran coasts; the engine for national development
The co-hosted meeting between the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran and the Special Representative of the President and the Secretary of the Makran Coast Development was held on Monday, 17th of Ordibehesht.
Dr. Ali Asadi, the head of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran, emphasized the institution’s coverage of diverse fields such as agriculture, geography, languages, and tourism, and the integration of technology and knowledge-based companies.
The meeting focused on the development of the Makran coast and the readiness of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran to utilize its capacities in this regard. Dr. Elahe Dadi provided an overview of the Science and Technology Park’s performance in the year 1401, highlighting its 460 technology units, 6,507 employed technology personnel, and nearly $350,000 in product exports and services, along with over 50 trillion Tomans in sales by companies.
Moreover, Dr. Allah-Dadi announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the University of Tehran’s Innovation District in the year 1402, covering an area of nearly 800 hectares and including key commercial areas of Tehran. She emphasized the district’s role as a link between traditional industries and modern technologies, promoting digital transformation and creating various business opportunities.
Dr. Hossein Dehghan, the Executive Secretary of the Makran Coast Development Council, highlighted the potential of the Makran coast to be a driving force for national development and stressed the importance of capitalizing on this capacity with a national and compassionate approach.
The Special Representative of the President proposed that the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran could contribute to the development of the science and technology hub in the Makran region, leading to research, studies, and the formation of a science and technology hub, which could create different chains leading to employment, investment attraction, and increased regional efficiency and productivity.
In conclusion, it was mentioned that necessary information and facilities would be provided by the Makran Coast Development Council to the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran to implement the required measures for the realization of this endeavor. Additionally, the CEOs of active companies within the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran presented their relevant achievements and contributions that could be employed in the development of the Makran coast in fields such as agriculture, animal husbandry, electronics, and more.
