Paying attention to the capacity of international students and the proposal of setting up a joint cooperation office with Japan
Dr. Ali Asadi, in a joint meeting at the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran with the Ambassador of Japan, referred to the potential for collaboration with Japan and emphasized the focus on digital economy in Iran’s sixth development plan, highlighting this as an opportune area for cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, attended by Dr. Ali Asadi, the head of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran, Mr. Kazutoshi Aikawa, the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Shota Abe, the Third Secretary of the Japanese Embassy, and cultural and information secretaries, various aspects of collaboration and the existing capabilities for cooperation were discussed.
Dr. Asadi highlighted the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran as the oldest and largest university park in the country, with nearly 300 technology and knowledge-based companies engaged in activities such as growth, post-growth, development, and employment.
Moreover, the park supports idea owners through student and technology cores.
Furthermore, Dr. Asadi emphasized the comprehensive coverage of all scientific fields at the University of Tehran and noted that companies from various work areas are members of this institution.
The head of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran also spoke about the history of collaboration between the governments of Iran and Japan, expressing hope for continued cooperation and the sharing of existing capabilities between the two countries.
Dr. Asadi expressed readiness for collaboration and proposed initiatives such as establishing a joint cooperation office, organizing joint exhibitions, producing joint products by technology and knowledge-based companies from both countries, and providing support programs for Japanese students in Iran and vice versa.
Mr. Kazutoshi Aikawa, the Ambassador of Japan, suggested visiting science and technology parks and industries in Japan as a basis for attaining new and innovative technologies, potentially serving as a foundation for collaboration.
In another part of the meeting, a comprehensive introduction to the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran was provided, and visits were made to the Ronakgar Pars and Pishrovan Biotechnology companies located in the park.
